Facebook achieves 1 billion active users milestone
Today is a big day for World’s largest social networking site. Facebook’s Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced through his Facebook profile that his company has acheived a major milestone when it comes to active users. Mark today announced that Facebook now has over 1 billion active users world wide. This number achieved by Facebook is mind boggling as currently One seventh of the world’s population is currently ‘actively’ using the social networking site.
Other than revealing the 1 billion active user milestone the company has achieved, Facebook also made public some interesting facts and figures that give as a glimpse of site’s performance in the past. One of the most interesting fact revealed by Facebook today is that users have given 1.13 trillion likes to different posts since February 2009, when the feature was launched site wide.

- 140.3 billion friend connections
- 219 billion photos uploaded
- 17 billion location-tagged posts, including check-ins
- 62.6 million songs have been played 22 billion times – that’s about 210,000 years of music
